Summer Holiday Essay

This past summer was a very exciting summer for me. I was able to go home to Virginia for six weeks. I was able to visit my friends and family. The best part about my summer was going to the beach.

The beach that I went to is called Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. It is a small part of the Outer Banks. The ocean is the Atlantic Ocean. The water was not very cold but it was cold enough to take my breath away. I loved sunbathing, building sand castles and picking up sea shells. Every day while we were at the beach my family went for walks. We always cooked dinner together and watched movies. I loved being with my family.

I was also able to go to Pennsylvania to visit my best friend. She lives in a very small town three hours from the capital, Philadelphia. While we were together we were able to go to Philadelphia. I love this city. Philadelphia is where America was born. This is where they formed the constitution and laws of America. I was able to see the Liberty Bell which is an enormously large bell that has a big crack in it. We also walked all around the city and at the end of the trip we ate a genuine Philly Cheese Steak. This is a sandwich which has beef that is cooked with onions and covered in cheese. It was a really fun trip and I took lots of pictures while I was there.

I didn’t travel much after that. I was able to spend time with my family hang out at home. I read consistently all summer. I love reading books and it was so fun to be able to read and not worry about homework or school work. I had an ideal summer but I was ready to come home to Budapest to see my friends and live in my apartment again.
